Urgent Prayer Request for Lisa

Lisa Smith Glad Chatter

For those of you who do not know Lisa, she is an beautiful lady, inside and out. I came to know Lisa through the blog world. Recently, Lisa began a battle for her earthly life (an aggressive cancer). Her battle became more difficult as her insurance company (Scott and White) have decided not to pay for her recent surgery or further treatment at MD Anderson (Leading specialist/hospital for this type of cancer). Her appeal was Friday. Today, they were denied!

I am outraged! I know GOD Is greater than this obstacle, but I come to you with a broken heart for Lisa and her family. I can not imagine how they must feel. Lisa has 4 young children and a wonderful husband. She needs our prayers and support! Please storm the heavens in prayer with me!

Storming the heavens,

Andrea

  4. I'm so sorry. My sister had some of the same problems. I don't think coverage is going to get any better either. But I do pray for Lisa and her family. He is the Great Physician and I pray that He will take care of her and her whole family ~ bringing comfort, healing and providing for all their needs.

  11. Yes Andrea, prayers said. Sometimes I wonder, why we bother to pay so much premiums and each time we get nothing out of it. Now wondering if I should continue to pay for my medical insurances. I too am afraid when I do need the assistance it will be denied and says its not in the contract. God pls help us all.
Blessings to you Andrea for being such a sweet friend and human being too.

  24. Thanks, Andrea. I have left a note on Lisa's blog, which I follow. Why would a company do this? Money. It always boils down to money. As I mentioned to Lisa, I had to take on Blue Cross for a similar situation with my handicapped children when they were little. I went through the state insurance fraud hotline. (Many people don't realize that it works both ways.) In any event, as a result, Blue Cross was required to pay for the care of dozens of people who had been denied payment in specific (expensive) instances. We are now into an economy where permission is usually sought first, rather than payment afterward, but the principle is the same. I hope that once Lisa is better, she will be able to tackle the insurance company through both private and public channels. Perhaps others can help in that way. I did notice in her tweet that something seems to be breaking in a positive way, but she does not provide details yet. Praying for her, of course, and somehow knowing that God will surprise all of us with the outcome. (You know how you get that feeling sometimes?)

  32. Been off for a while Andrea trying to catch up on a few things. I hope all is well with you.

I added Lisa to my following List. I will definately Keep this in prayer and pray intercession to our father about this. I am concerned and outraged as I am going through this with my father as he waits for his Kidney transplant. With this new Health reform His insurance has told him what to expect now which is not good and Many dont know what they can expect until it happens.

Friend, We must really storm the heaves about these insurnaces and this situation.. Blessings..

  48. Heavenly Father, lift them, comfort them and may your Power make a way for them through this dark place where is appears that evil has placed a stop sign. Stop signs are red and remind us of the power of the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ....we join to claim the power of the Blood of Jesus over Lisa and her healing and we bow at the throne of grace and mercy and ask that Your sovereign will shall be done on earth as in heaven. We look to You Father as Your Son told us to Ask Seek & Knock...and we are Knocking Lord God.....Knocking at the door of answered prayers. We thank You that we can never ask but You hear and You answer...We thank You oh God of Grace and Mercy. In the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. For He is the one whom we wish to see lifted up and glorified in this Life in such need.

  59. I can't believe they can get away with this, so I'll be praying. There's a verse in Proverbs that says the heart of the king is in the Lord's hands, so we will trust that He will turn their hearts to be willing to help. He is faithful!

  61. I am so upset & sad that this is happening to Lisa. I hope they appeal again, Andrea. What is her blog name again? Prayers are lifting for her ... this is tragic the insurance company did this ... they should also contact their state insurance commissioner & file a complaint (it does often help).

God will hear our prayers of need ... for Lisa & her family.

    Hugs & love, Marydon

  65. Praying for Lisa!

Funny, I woke up this morning with you on my mind! Thank you for your prayers. I am tired of feeling yucky. We had beautiful weather last weekend and all I could do with Otto was sit outside with him. I was afraid that if I tried to run around & play with him I would end up falling head first into the lawn!

This weekend I've had several dreams about the beach. Probably because we may not make it to OBX this year! :-( If I have to take a summer class, it will kill our beach trip (or shorten it at the very least).

I hope you & Doug and your family (both human and furry!) are doing well. Please let me know how I can be praying for you all! Miss you and love you, too!

    Hugs, Leslie
