Dancing In The Rain
This picture was taken near James River State Park. There was a storm coming over the mountain. These are cows, but it is the best picture I have to share, today!
Yesterday, my friend Jessica posted a facebook status that spoke to my heart. She lives in upstate South Carolina. Her status read something like this, "My horses are dancing in the rain. I have never seen anything like this!"
As I pondered her words I could see the horses enjoying the rain. It seems these magnificent creatures appreciated the rain in a profound way. "They danced!" Do we dance when the rain comes?
Today, I am making a new commitment to "dance" when the rain comes in my life! I will never look at the rainy seasons of life in the same way!
Dancing in the rain,
Andrea
Good Morning Andrea,
ReplyDeleteYour post made me smile. I have had a rough two days physically. I love the picture of the horses "dancing in the rain".
Blessings,
Tammy
Oh, Andrea! Savannah is GORGEOUS! I love her precious profile so intently studying her artwork in progress.
ReplyDeleteIt was great talking with you yesterday ... having walked in those shoes, my heart goes out to both of you ladies ... it isn't easy, the pain sticks like a knife ... but time will soften the blow, the knowledge, the reality of it all ... it doesn't mean you have to accept it or like it tho.
You are so precious Andrea. 'Hi' to happy hubs.
Happy & lovely 4th.
TTFN ~ Hugs, Marydon
Thank you my sister, my friend.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, I need to dance more.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
That is beautiful!! I agree that I need to dance more. I'm working on it!
ReplyDeleteOh Andrea! I am dancing with you! Singing praises unto HIM for when the storm passes HE will be with us and we will be MORE like HIM!
ReplyDeleteI love you!
I remember when I was little, when the rain started pouring, my bros. and I would go out and just have fun soaking in the rain. Running. Chasing each other. It was a good feeling. Beautiful pic! God bless sister.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, Your post really touched my heart today.. I need to learn to dance in the rain...
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog today! I always love hearing from you my friend.
Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
~Lynn

ReplyDeletein the rain should not have a difficult
time dancing in it.
i would have loved to see those horses.
This was a GREAT post...and you are so right. Dancing in the rain is what we all need to do more of. Have a good day. HUGS, Debbie
ReplyDeleteOh how I love to dance in the rain!
ReplyDeleteDancing with you,
Sara
Beautiful! Thank you for being an encouragement to me! You always stop by and leave a sweet note on my posts and I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I dance a fast dance and other times it's a s-l-o-w dance.
ReplyDeleteEither way, I try to keep dancing.
Dancing -- whether in the rain or otherwise -- also burns calories! Another reason to do it.
ReplyDeleteI want to dance with you, Andrea! This is so beautiful and really lifts my spirits today.
ReplyDeleteHello, Andrea...I have seen you around, and have wanted to visit for some time...and have finally made it! And I'm so glad I did...we have a lot in common...it appears...you homeschool? That's fabulous! And you are a sister! I can't wait to get to know you better! I hope you will not mind if I follow you! :-)) ~Janine XO
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely thrilled that we got rain yesterday and it is so much cooler this morning here in east Texas. I like what you said, "I will never look at the rainy seasos of life in the same way." Makes you think, eh? Bless you for this post. My "rainy seasons" of life have had me in the dumps lately. But I need to "dance" instead.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your prayers Andrea. Their working, praise God.
ReplyDeleteThis post brought up a memory from years ago when my oldest daughter and I went out in the rain and danced...of course when rain comes in the form of trials it is harder, but such a good reminder!
ReplyDeleteGod bless.....
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDancing,
Lyn
What a beautiful picture!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post...very thought provoking. I hope that I can dance in the rain too.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
mimi
I admit, I have trouble dancing even when it's sunny, never mind in the rain. But I do love your optimism here -- it's contagious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post and an inspiring image.
ReplyDeleteXo
Jo
I will dance with you sis, love you.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great analogy. It does make you wonder if we truly thank God for the good and the bad. Even in the rain...great post!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Andrea! We had rain here in AZ today which is rare and I love'd every drop of it!! It reminded me of the rains of the Spirit suddenly showering upon His own......Rain seemed to be the theme the Lord has been speaking and encouraging me with today....Bring the rain Lord....we'll dance and rejoice in You!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!
Sweet Blessings!
Jackie
What a pretty picture! I love seeing the sky like that. The thought of the horses dancing in the rain is so neat and I like the idea of looking at our rainy seasons in the same way!
ReplyDeleteConsider the horses in the field
ReplyDeleteHow they dance;
For man in all his wisdom
Is not joyful as these!
Hi Andrea, sorry it's been awhile, I have some catching up to do. Love the post...I love to smell the rain and listen to it's music as it falls! The air is fresh and it makes me think of all the pain that may be erased as it washes the world clean!!! I would love to see horses dance in the rain, that would be a picture to see!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Margaret B
I like this post a lot - it's a good reminder that we need to rejoice in the good & the bad.
ReplyDeleteMay God bless you dear friend, in the sunshine and the rain.
Dearest Andrea: I love the imaagery of horses dancing in the rain. Wish I could see it for real!
ReplyDeleteWe think of rain as a negative, but in Scripture it's a good thing. Washing away the grime of sin, giving new growth, and a type of the Holy Spirit's outpouring.
May Jesus dance with you, dear.
What a wonderful thought... horses dancing in the rain, as you said we all need to dance more often.
ReplyDeleteSo far as I can see almost any rain referred to in the Scriptures after the deluge is blessing. "My doctrine shall drop as rain", Moses says.
ReplyDeleteLet there be showers of blessing!
What a beautiful picture and what a sight that must have been to see the horses dancing!
ReplyDeleteAndrea, thank you for the inspiring post. Blessings dear one.
ReplyDeletegorgeous picture....so soothing and peaceful...Have a
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th....

ReplyDeleteThis is one of those "pictures from God" to send us a love letter we will remember. Thank you. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteLove this, Andrea!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and a gentle cyber-hug!
oh wow! I was just on another sister's blog, and when I wrote the word "IndependAnce" I stopped because I realized that was spelled wrong. Supposed to be: IndependEnce, with an "e." HOWEVER, after reading YOUR blog post I believe I've found a new way to spell indepenDANCE...with an "a"! :) The freedom that is found in dancing, IN THE RAIN! OH WOW. Love the mental picture here. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous picture and wonderful post. Blessings ~
ReplyDeleteO I love this, I love the title to. Lol. Have a great weekend and holiday Andrea. Prayers and Hugs coming your way. Blessings my friend.
ReplyDeletenice post, keep on blogging!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, I love the way the sunshine breaks through the clouds. And what an encouraging way to look at life's storms.
ReplyDeleteAdded hugs to you Andrea. ((((Andrea))))
ReplyDeleteKeep dancing in the rain - standing on the Rock. No chaos around you (us) is stronger than He who is IN us!
ReplyDeleteI love God's glory shining down in your picture! :O)
ReplyDeleteGreat post...we all need to dance...rain or shine!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
It is raining in Eastern Oregon today, too. I'm getting tired of the rain, but this post reminds me to find the joy even when the sun isn't shining. Thank you! Love the pic.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful post and capture Andrea.
ReplyDeleteLove to dance in the rain.
Blessings.
xo
What a beautiful, pristine picture. I think those cows are dancing a slow dance. When troubles come, I could do a slow worshipful dance with my Lord, even though I probably wouldn't want to do a jig.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post. I am so happy you share your friends words with us.
ReplyDeleteYes we should be like the horses and dance in the rain.
Love
Maggie
Beautiful photo and thoughts! The sky unfolds in a waterfall of light; love it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings & a bit o' sunshine!

I love walking in the rain! I did not know if Sitka would be writing this weekend, so I came here to wish you a happy Fourth!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous, beautiful image!
ReplyDeleteI was just dropping in to wish you and yours the happiest Independence Day. May your day be full! May you enjoy laughter shared with family, great food shared with friends, fireworks to make you gasp, a lump in your throat at the anthem, and a full and grateful heart at all we have been given. Happy Fourth of July, my friend!
what a good reminder! I think back to a time I literally danced in the rain in the mountains...with a boy I really liked. But I certainly needed the reminder to dance now...even though I am a wife and mom...all the more do I need to remember to DANCE!
ReplyDeleteYes I dance in the rain! I love the rain as much as my garden does. Although I also enjoy sleeping while it's raining as it is sooo relaxing! Horses dancing in the rain, now that would be an awesome sight! Love Di ♥
