Longing
























My soul longs to be nearer to Thee...
My body aches for Thee...
Come, sweet spirit...
Abide with me!


A white-tailed deer drinks from the creek; I want to drink God, deep draughts of God. I'm thirsty for God-alive. I wonder, "Will I ever make it— arrive and drink in God's presence?" I'm on a diet of tears— tears for breakfast, tears for supper. All day long people knock at my door, Pestering, "Where is this God of yours?" Psalm 42:1 The Message

    An easy question to ask when awful things happen. Yet our God is in control and knows each and every one of His creations. He knows. He is there. He loves. He cares. Just hard to understand right now. This is not head knowledge but heart knowledge. Deeper than I can put words to. Tears well up from deep wells of sorrow and sadness and overwhelm.
