Happy Independence Day!

I pray each of you are enjoying "Independence Day" and reflecting on all it means for each of us. The brilliant red in these azaleas reminded me of the blood shed by our military through out the years. Since the birth of our nation we have enjoyed privileges many other people never know. After the hamburgers, hot dogs, and fireworks are over, please remember to pray for each member of the military and their families. Soon, my son will leave for an undisclosed location to serve our country for six months. He is a marine and loves his country. Many years ago, during WWII,  my husband's father, James Bolling Perdue died serving our country. My husband was about 14 months old and only has pictures of he and his dad together. He has a very tender heart for the children left behind. So, in memory of his dad, we ask you pray specifically for all the children whose parents serve faithfully.

Praising GOD for freedom and praying for all those responsible for my freedom,
Andrea

I do pray for our military often, having seen the life my dad has had after serving in Korea I never forget what these precious men and women go through. That is a beautiful picture of the azalea's.

I am becoming more burdened to pray for our servicemen also. We lost some special Aussies recently in Afghanistan......so that leads me to pray for all the military.
I continually pray that God will shine a light on where the Taliban are in that country and just expose them and get this mess over and done with so a people can be free and not have to flee their country.
I love those azaleas......I lost most of my large bushes in the drought...they are just coming back now and I have planted a few small ones.

As a mom who's oldest son is currently on his third tour of Iraq, I appreciate this post, Andrea. Our troops need our support, our gratitude, and most of all, our prayers.

God Bless America!

Andrea:
When we hear of a service member being killed I always think of the ones who have suffered the loss of a child, sibling or parent.
Thank you for reminding me to pray for them.

Will be thinking of and praying for your son, as well as all other brave men and women serving our country in harm's way. Also praying for the families they have left behind who are anxiously awaiting their loved one's return. We are blessed to have such faithful men and women who unselfishly give their lives for our freedom.

Not only do the men serve, but their families do too in that they give him the support he needs to do such a great thing for our country. I am so thankful for all of our military men and women, and their families. I came from a military family,so my heart goes out to them and their families as they serve. Thank you for writing about this great man.
