Heat Wave

Here on the east coast, we are having record breaking highs. Today, it is expected to be between 105-110 degrees. I have lived on the east coast all my life and I don't remember ever experiencing this type of heat. Heat of this magnitude affects the elderly, little children, and those already impaired by illness the hardest.

Please pray for all those affected by the heat. If you are in a position to help others, check on those affected. Offer fans, air conditioners, and water or a safe cool place to rest. Each of us must put action to our prayers, if God has given us the ability.

Storming the heavens in prayer,

Andrea

Yes, this is dangerous. I know that older people don't seem to know that they are getting dehydrated and sometimes are afraid to open windows for circulation. God bless you.

Great reminder Andrea. I feel for you guys in this blistering heat. I am in S. Fla. and it is not as bad as the other states. Blessings and cool prayers sent your way.

I am concerned for my son, who is working out of doors this summer. You know teens, they don't think they need to drink a lot of water...

I was glad to see the emergency departments are being proactive and visiting the elderly and sick even before they call for help.

Amen sis, we need to pray that the needs will be met. That kind of heat is very dangerous, praying it cools down there quickly.

Oh my goodness. I need to check on my father in law in Florida. Stay cool!!

It's hard to believe it is actually COOLER here in Louisiana that where you are. That doesn't happen very often. Praying the hotness will soon turn to milder weather.

I give an amen from Georgia...we have to do all we can for those who need help...not just in words, but by actions...it's the very least we can do...

Stay hydrated! I, for myself, don't like that kind of temp. Take care. God bless.

wow-- it will be hotter there than in Florida! I know in PA my friends are saying that this is so unusual--it normally doesn't get hot until August and they are so hot already. It can be dangerous so take care:)

Putting action to our prayers...great point Andrea. We have yet reached those temperatures here in the South.

Praying for those that suffer - the heat affects me too - but I'm not on the east coast right now. Thankfully!

Very hot in Michigan, too. Good suggestions for service.

Wow that is crazy. We are very hot and humid here in Michigan. Stay cool.

Here in the VA Beach area it's going to be a little bit "cooler" - 98 degrees, with an Air Quality "Code Orange" alert. Certainly not comfortable, but I guess it could be worse. Take care!

We are presently 98 but they are predicting 105 today ... argh! If this ANY indication of the hereafter, cool sure looks better ... (I just had to say that, sorry.)

It has been close to 100 here in SC! I worry about people that have to work outside...God bless them! Hope you're having a great summer!

Where that might be normal for the southwest, it is a killer for those states that aren't use to it. Drink lots of water.

Praying!

What an awesomely beautiful picture Andrea! Here in the Midwest we are used to those extreme heat waves. It is usually very quite outside when the temps. get that high. The best thing to do is nothing! Just lay there and wait for it to pass. It's the one thing about summer that I don't like. So stay cool my friend, hopefully it will pass quickly!

And don't forget the furry members of our families! Every time I turn around, Otto's water bowl is empty. Poor guy keeps wanting to to go outside, but I don't dare let him out there for more than 5 minutes!

My son and I were just talking today about how weird it is that it is that hot there. We expect hot temps here but there is surprising!! Definitely praying for you all!!

Praying for you, friend. My sister and her family live in Midlothian...we certainly are having brutal weather! Our high temp today in the SW part of Virginia was 99. Praying for cooler days ahead.

Oh, my goodness, that is so hot. It is very hot here too. Going out in the heat did not help my allergies and asthma at all. Most of the time I just stay in. Praying for you, Dear ~

Hi Andrea-thanks for stopping by. I'm behind on reading blogs due to the holiday weekend and now prepping for a houseful.

We have a.c. so we're good here. I think its supposed to break on Thursday-still humid but not as hot. Hope you are not wilting there...Take care!

Joining in prayers for all affected by the heat. I am adding prayers that we will have adequate electricity to provide for all of our needs, and adding a prayer for your son.
Thanks so much for your sweet posts. I am so grateful for the weekend at Marydon's and for the beautiful women I got to spend time with. What a glorious blessing.

Love you so!

Oh my, like living in a crock pot! The "link within" picture beneath this post was of a picture of The Old Stone Church and that picture looks so cool and refreshing, may you feel as if you're in that place as you deal with the extreme heat. Blessings and prayers for you and yours.

It has been really hot here too. I feel so sorry for our animals (and of course those working outside in this heat). Our yellow Lab has a pool that he can jump in and out of during the day. However, that makes him muddy which keeps him locked OUT of my house.

I pray we all get some much needed rain.

Praying that your electricity stays on and the heat dissipates soon. We are in the midwest and have had a few overcast days..still humid though.
Drink lots of water Andrea.

You are having the south's usual summer weather, but we are dealing with rain our way, this year. Helping to keep our temps in the
90's.

It has been a hard summer, weatherwise for many. Prayers...

thanks for your prayers. Feeling a little better this morning.

Yepper, we are effected also....Like you, the Lord has lead me to pray for those also that are experiencing this. He has done this for years now, especially the small children come to my mind, many times during the middle of the night and I pray for them, and their familys. The stress of a crying baby that is so hot and unable to sleep is what comes to my mind,,and I pray...

I love what you wrote,,'each of us must put action to our prayers'..amen girl.

I just invited a family of 8 to come swimming at our pool any time they want, even we are not home to stop by and cool off.
