Nathaniel and Savannah
Today, Doug, Savannah, and I had the privilege of eating lunch with Nathaniel. Nathaniel lives in Vermont, however, he brought his Mommie, Daddy, and baby sister, Katie to Virginia to speak about their new church plant(I will be sharing more about their ministry in a later post). Doug, Savannah, and I attended Iron Bridge Baptist Church with Nathaniel and his parents. After the service, we all went to lunch.
Nathaniel and Savannah had not seen each other since September. They were overcome with excitement to be together again. Nathaniel is our great nephew and Savannah is our granddaughter. They are each 2 1/2 years old (only 2 weeks apart in age).
During lunch, I told Savannah and Nathaniel to
be patient! Nathaniel's Mommy asked him to share with me the "meaning" of patience and I would like to share Nathaniel's "very" profound definition of patience with each of you.
Patience:
NO whining and NO complaining!I don't know about each of you, but I was quite convicted! How many times does my Heavenly Father ask me to
"be patient" and what do I do? WHINE AND COMPLAIN!
Learning from the little ones,
Andrea

Working on the whining and complaining part with the Lord.

Thanks for sharing.

They are adorable! And I definitely need to practice what I try to teach my kids more often when it comes to the whining and complaining! :-)
Sweet photo's and words that are oh so true!
they 're so cute...They actually look like twins...words...yep...totally true.
That is just priceless!! Because it is so true and from the mouth of a 2 year old!! :)

Kate
An awesome definition...I'm feeling some conviction, too!
He is very wise! A lesson I must learn too.
what a beautiful photo...and great story girl!
Hi Andrea!
Words from little ones have such an impact on us...in their honesty and innocence, they "know". I was convicted as well. Whining and complaining only reveal my lack of faith and gratitude...that is not how I want to react to situations in my life. God is in every detail, watching and protecting, so to be impatient with His plans seems rather foolish.
Love your music...it's uplifting and "speaks" to me. I need to go back through your blog to see what I've missed the last few weeks...I'll catch up sooner or later!
Take care, and God bless you, Andrea!
Mary
How many times we want to teach the right things to our children and end up being taught instead? So cute! So wise!
How sweet of God you send you little Nathaniel to remind you about waiting for God's timing.
They are so darling!!! And very wise. :)
That's a perfect definition! I'm going to have to teach it to my students.
"Awesome! They outgrow these things so quickly they do not wear them out. You are wise to get them second hand.
Congratulations,
andrea"
Thanks so much for commenting, I wasn't sure what blog to reply to! :)
Yes, I am so glad to be blessed with so many things. Haha although I did not really want hand me downs at first, but we are on a tight budget so it has worked for us! Have a great day!
Cute kids! Clever boy!
May God grant me a childlike faith and LOTS of patience!!
what cuties!!!!!
Andrea:
I like the way he answered. He just might be a writer when he grows up.
It is true that a child shall lead them....they have so much truth in their observations.....what beautiful children
Ouch! I'm thinking I need to tape that definition on my bathroom mirror.
Computer screen. At home and at work.
On the dashboard of my car.
Well, you get the picture!
Sweet dreams.
Now this is a smart little boy! Sounds like you had a great time!
Hey A, I sent you an invite :)
Hello Andrea... I am back to blogging and wanted to get by here to see you......... I needed time off but now am back now and going to switch gears and write on my Samaritan Women more and on the other Life at My House less..... I have been having long talks with the Lord and HE has given me great instructions.... of course all HIS instructions are great!
Sending warm Spring hugs !
Good reminder.
Precious photo.
Hope you are having a good week.
Blessings,
Charlotte
Oh my! Out of the mouths of babes! LOL That's GREAT!
In 15 days I'll be holding my precious 2 year old granddaughter, Savannah! Can't wait.
Hope you are feeling okay.
How's Amden?
Such a sweet dress on Savannah
Thanks for your visits....they are a blessing.
I noticed I had two less followers after last WFW which I find rather interesting. I have no idea who but am guessing non Christian friends who found it a bit close to the bone...I am not going to have a separate blog for my spiritual life, my garden life and my patchwork and cat life.....they are all part of me as a whole.
But it was interesting that it almost felt like a little persecution and the lack of popularity came up, but I would rather lift the name of Jesus than worry about followers. I hardly ever look but I was one off fifty and so I began to wonder when I would get there......I did and then one dropped off then another. Oh that the spirit of God may use what we write to put a hook in the hearts of those who read that He may follow it up in His time.
How adorable and sweet post.
Great message Andrea.
Have a lovely day.
And the children shall lead us . . .
Too precious!
nathaniel's words came straight from the Heavenly Father! it also underscores what He's been telling me. *ouch* but needed.
what beautiful babes!
Well, he nailed it! That's a great way to describe patience.

Debra
Good morning Andrea,
What sweet little tots they are! And Nathaniel's got it right too! Thank you for a message to us to be patient, which is a fruit of the Spirit. Thank you also for your visit. I'm always happy to hear from you. Have a beautiful day.
Blessings,
Sandi
So true, Andrea!
It's interestng how kids get things so simply whereas us adults forget the simple things that make life easier. And, oh my goodness, could they be anymore darling?????
ALWAYS a pleasure to stop by and see you, beautiful lady and I always feel doubly blessed when you venture over to my place.
Peace and serenity,
~Jo
