Trusting GOD With The Unknown

In the quietness of each day, I contemplate the path GOD has for me. I look forward to the journey ahead, yet there are times when I become nervous, especially when it relates to my children and grandchildren. We face new adventures with our children almost daily. The youngest is 18 and the oldest will be 29, soon. There are five, total. Over the last few weeks, I have realized my nervousness could be measured in a lack of trust in what lies ahead. I "say" I fully trust GOD with each of them, yet I am nervous!

"Answer this question: Does the God who lavishly provides you with his own presence, his Holy Spirit, working things in your lives you could never do for yourselves, does he do these things because of your strenuous moral striving or because you trust him to do them in you? Don't these things happen among you just as they happened with Abraham? He believed God, and that act of belief was turned into a life that was right with God." Galatians 3:5 The Message

Oh my, after reading this verse over and over a few times I find myself full of both conviction and hope. I am reminded of something my husband often tells me, "there is nothing you can do to fix this situation. Some things only GOD can fix." Wise man, listening to an even wiser GOD.

Join me as I trust GOD with each new adventure in the lives of our children and grandchildren. HE is faithful. HE will continue to prepare the way before each of them.

Trusting GOD with the unknown,

Andrea

I loved this verse! But oh how we take on the worry, don't we? And then give it back to the Lord when we realize AGAIN we can't do anything about it.

Andrea,
I heard Attorney, Gary C. Johnson once say, that we should never worry over things we can not change. He does have a point. Not knowing what your worries are, I can't say whether they can change or not. But, with assurance, I can say there is nothing too big for God to take care of. And my, how He loves his children. Prayers for God to shower you with Blessings, Trisha

Beautifully put, Andrea! We only have one child, and yet, the worries and concerns still come. We desire so much for her to love the Lord with all of her heart and ache for her when she makes poor choices. But the Lord knows what He's doing in her life and also in ours! To Him be the glory!

So glad you stopped by Life Lessons today. Thanks for your transparency! It IS wonderful to know that He is willing to forgive us and point us in the right direction once again (1 John 1:9). And that He gives us other godly brothers and sisters who can help us along the way. Praying for you! Hugs and God bless!

Hi Andrea,

Wow, what a powerful verse! You're right...it's one that convicts yet brings hope.

So grateful that our God is faithful and we can trust Him as we move forward into all He's called us to!

Blessings to you!

Andrea, I am so glad you came over for a visit today which prompted me to visit you.....and I am your newest member.

I understand your concern your kids and grandkids because I am in the same boat with you.....My verse I rely on is "Be anxious for nothing but in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving present your requests to God and the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" Phil 4:6

I look forward to getting to know you better....

I've BEEN there....AM there....and WILL be there again. We are not alone...but as you say so often, "By HIS mercy and in the midst of HIS grace".

You're singing my song ... Hardly a day passes that I don't pray for my children & grandchildren, most of which are not saved. I show up before the Lord full of concern, transfer that concern to Him, and leave knowing He has it under His sovereign control. I love the sigh of relief that follows. I call it trust.

Great post. Blessings,
Kathleen

This is a very important reminder. Thank you. Trust is the word I've chosen this year. I really try to trust, but I keep catching myself picking my worry back up. Again thank you for this wonderful reminder.

Oh, Andrea, this is where I'm at right now with my kids and grands. If I SAY I trust the Lord, how does my fretting prove that?

Thanks for the true word.

Andrea, He will never leave you. He will always be your support, your rock and your anchor. I am praying for you.

Let all worshippers of the Lord now say, that His mercy is unchanging for ever. - Psalm 118:4

This is so right on, Andrea. I agree and love that verse in The Message. I didn't realize it was scripture until the last.

Andrea:
I enjoyed the scripture you found. My favorite verses when I am swamped by things are Psalm 138:7-8 in the King James Version.

Verse 8 tells me that "God will perfect that which concerns me."
Since I found these words, I have had a lot of concerns over the years. And He has taken care of all of them.

I am so grateful you and I have connected in the ways we have...Have a great day out there today and know.....nothing's gonna happen that He won't allow. ☺

I have reached a point in my life that I am trusting...really trusting in the Lord for my family and for my dear husband. If we stay in the word...it is easier.

You have taken the very words out of my mouth with this post, dear Andrea.

I am quietly worrying about my two sons and one daughter and my first grandson... because I see things that they are in, and I am scared about the consequences.

But you are so right I cannot fix it, only pray to God, lift them up daily, and trust Him for the unknown.

Thank you for this timely reminder. I know it, but seeing it expressed by another person, helps confirm what God is already saying to me.

Love
Lidj

He is faithful who has promised. But still we find it hard not to worry.

The family shape seems to be pretty close to your: 5 from 20 to 28.
