Mountain Climbing

As you stand atop the mountain in your life, continue to keep your focus on your Heavenly Father. Just as HE gave you enough energy to reach the top HE will carefully help you down the other side. Mountain climbing doesn't end at the top.

Everyone loves the view, but the most important part of mountain climbing is steady endurance. When climbing life's mountains we must prepare ourselves.

~Are you prepared?
~Are you ready?
~Do you have the right gear?
~Are you running ahead of GOD?

By HIS mercy and in the grip of HIS grace,

Andrea

Being prepared is everything in mountain climbing! My hubby used to climb (including Mt. Rainier's 14,000 ft peak), and it is akin to a death sentence to venture forth without adequate & sustained preparations. It also requires muscle.

The book, "Hinds Feet on High Places" comes to mind. God readies our feet to go forth onto the high places.

Blessings,
Kathleen

TY for such a lovely write, sweet friend. If you read mine share today you'll see my comment ... we are there, but what a rough decision to make at that fork.

Have a beautiful week ~

Hi Andrea - I agree it is so important to look to God when we are on top of our mountains. Many people forget how they got there. I don't want to be like that. Thanks for the reminder.

I read another devotional today that spoke about getting ahead of God....so easy for me to do! I am working on being equipped...this year I am studying the word obedience. Excited and a bit apprehensive to learn what God will show me.

I have learned that on the front side of the mountain is theory that is where you learn to climb by studying, praying and fasting...then you reach the top and you feel exalted over the climb now you must go down the backside of the mountain..this is when theory becomes experience...you must learn to trust the theory you learned climbing the mountain so that the descent can be restful and victorious....yup that is what I have learned and it is so true....

You know, I always seem to be prepared to go up those mountains...it's the coming down I have a hard time with!

Hugs to you, Andrea! Wishing you the sweetest in 2012.

Hi Andrea, I loved this because I used to do rock climbing-not like your hubby but I remember climbing down is often more difficult than going up. Leaving the mountaintop is always difficult, especially when you've had a blessed time with the Lord. Thoughts of you and yours have come to mind lately; know you are loved and cherished.
Hugs, Noreen

I can finally link to your blog now! I have NO idea why, but I was never able to link to your blog while I was on blogger. Wordpress seems to have no problem with it.
