Focus

"People become attached to their burdens sometimes more than the burdens are attached to them." George Bernard Shaw
Irish playwright, 20th century

Today, I am reminded to focus on the eternal, not the external. It's easy for me to fall into the trap of focusing on the circumstances around me. God spoke clearly on this beautiful Richmond, Virginia morning through this quote. He then confirmed it through and email from a precious friend who is struggling with her health.

Today, join my friend and I on a quest to keep our eyes on the LORD and not life's circumstances!

Focusing on my LORD,

Andrea

My Dearest Andrea,

YES YES YES...I'm firmly standing with you and your friend...my eyes, mind, heart and soul are firmly and oh so steadily focused on Him and not on our circumstances.

Thank you for encouraging me today through this posting and your sweet comments on my blog site today. You lift me up along with many others and I thank the Lord for you, for that. I am praying for you, your friend and so many. God knows all of our needs and that is how I am approaching Him in prayer. I am praying fervently for us, for all of my blogging friends and any one who I happen to come across in my blog reading these days. It is wonderfully refreshing to know that we are all praying together for one anothers needs.

I love you Andrea and my mind and heart are with you always.

Peace & Big Hugs,
Alleluiabelle

Thank you for the reminder, Andrea. Time to time life seems to throw us a curve ball, but every time we give God thanks and praise, He will never let it go unnoticed and in turn we love ourselves a little more. I hope your friend has a speedy recovery.

What a beautiful sunrise photo!

Thanks for the reminder to keep the focus on the eternal instead of what's in front of me. It's so easy to get side tracked.

Thank you for a great message. I woke up with Psalm 121 on my mind. Keeping you in my prayers my friend. Have a wonderful week evening. ;)

Psalm 121 : 1 I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

God Bless you my friend!

praying for peace in the midst of physical illness. And in the midst of prayer, praying the Holy Spirit brings joy to you, and your friend.. Your prayers will not go void.. He hears, and He acts upon each and every one that we speak.. Amen?

Amen. Oftentimes we forgot what is important and eternal.
Thanks for sharing Andrea.

Amen to that, Andrea! It's so easy to just think about the circumstances and the "what ifs" in life. Writing the blog everyday helps keep me focused on Jesus, so I don't have as much time to "worry". I'm so glad you've been coming by!
Blessings,
Debra

That quote is full of truth. So often it seems that we hang on to our pain instead of just letting Him wash it away.
