Getting Real

Getting real and staying real is difficult, sometimes! Today, I am moving as slowly as this beautiful caterpillar. Some days are more difficult than others. I over do it and then I pay for it. We had a "big" day yesterday. I would not change one minute of it. We had our beautiful grandson and then in the evening I took pictures of our beautiful grand-horse and his horse friend. It was a blessed day.

I have much to do, today. However, I must move slower and rest in between those tasks. I am having to set boundaries. I can not do all the things I once could.

By HIS mercy and in the grip of HIS grace,
Andrea

Good Morning Andrea,

It is good to have ambitious days but it is also great to have quiet days....
Enjoy some peaceful time today.

Hope the aches and pains dissolve away.

I had an older friend (now deceased) who once told me that if she got one thing done a day, she felt she had accomplished something. I understand that now. :)

Andrea, I sure do know what you mean when you mentioned about paying for those busy days where you've over done.. I, too, find that I've got to just pace myself and try not to over do. I don't know if I like this getting older thing or not! Sometimes it's sooo hard! I've found myself slowing down a bunch compared to what all I used to be able to do..

I bet you really enjoyed having the company of your grandson! Those times are so precious!

Have a great day!

Blessings,
~Lynn

I could have written this post except for the part about the grand horse and its horse friend :)

Thanks for being real. We can learn so much from each other!

Andrea,
I understand that analogy very well. I also have some days where I can run or fly circles around many people - but other days where I just wish I had a moment to take a nap! lol
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post for today. It means a lot to know that you've visited and read what I shared.
Blessings on you my caterpillar/butterfly friend!

Andrea:
I can identify with your slowness. We had a rainstorm come through early yesterday morning. It set off my fibro. I also was awake from 2 to 6 yesterday morning. Yesterday was NOT one of my good days.
Let's try to coin a phrase for those slow days.

Andrea, I want that baby! How precious & beautiful! Now this would slow me down ...

Are you having one of those sluggish mid-afternoon moments where you feel the need to maybe take a nap? I could, but won't let myself, chuckle!

Have a great day ~

God gives us moments to use not in a hurry but to move slowly. If we move to fast, we may miss something while traveling. Take your time. Rest and enjoy all the blessings God has given you. Glad that you had special time with your grandson.

I so understand not being able to do all that we would like to do Andrea. Or all that we used to do. But I do think that it makes us even more aware of the blessing that we still have! It feels so good to be with our grandchildren. I am happy for you!

I like that your real and that you keep going when a lot of us would give up if we had the pain that you bear daily. Your an inspiration and a blessing.
