God takes us places to rekindle our spirit and renew our sense of who we are in HIM. For several years, my husband has taken me, time and time again to the gorgeous Virginia mountains. Each time, we pass this home on route 33. My eyes and heart have always been captivated by it. On our last trip, Doug slowed the SUV and I quickly took a picture.
This old home remains virtually the same, but the wash is different each time we pass. I have thought many times of the person or persons who may live in this home. What their lives may be like and what each day unfolds for them. They are beautifully nestled in the base of the mountains. There home has withstood many years of storms. It's strength evident in this picture!
The beauty found within each worn plank captivates my eye. Living life, working hard, and filling each day with purpose shows on the vessel. This vessels serves a great purpose, to protect its people! Our vessels serve a great purpose, too!
Praying each of us are found faithful as we live out our lives no matter how battered or torn our vessels may be.
Seeking HIM,
Andrea

Andrea:
I love the picture. Your words are so deep. I sense a strong loyalty lies in the members of the family. The home is strong and has weathered a lot of storms.I also think of fidelity.
Thank you for sharing this.
Good Morning,
Stopping by to say "Hi". I loved the picture. I live in Florida. It is so flat and citylike. It is nice to see the country.
Blessings,
Tammy
Oh I loved this picture and post. It just soo true isn't it. Our "dwellings" may be worn and aging, but we must press on to the finish.
I too am drawn to old houses and thoughts who might live there and their lives etc. Sooo many possibilities.
Have a wonderful week-end.
Hugs, Debbie
Great post. I love the picture, it reminded me of my early years. Sometimes I think it would be nice to still live like that. Have a blessed day! Hugs

It looks so beautiful there. What a great place to visit.
What a wonderful analogy sweetie. Yep, my vessel has been pretty battle and shaken all summer but deep within' my faith is like a strong tower. I know whatever happens my God will pull me through.
God bless ya and have a terrific weekend!!! :o)
Blessings to you Andrea, Love this home nestled in the trees. I feel like each old homestead has such history and so many stories for us. Don't you just wish you knew what tales it holds. Just like our lives, so many stories. Have a delightful weekend dear friend.

The beauty of the hills is very consoling.
Grace be with you all.
This picture really does speak of the lives inside...amazing photo. I needed to hear this analogy today. My own vessel feels pretty ragged. Blessings to you.
Powerful reminder here sister Andrea! Praying all is well and God bless and protect you always.
As a vessel who has been around a while, I have to say, "God is faithful!" This is a good reminder for us, Andrea. Bless you!

That is so sweet. I know the people who live there would love what you posted. Thank God we are His vessels, and He cares for us. Blessings ~
That picture is now my desktop. Blessings to you Andrea.
Really liked this post.
Andrea, I haven't visited blogs in a while ... I'm glad I stopped here this morning. This picture is beautiful. And, the way you connected this home to our vessel ... I loved it. :)
I think bits of me are starting to lean a little like that veranda...lol
I just found your blog. That house reminds me so much of My Grandparents in Boone County WV. Their's was a one story, but it looks so much like it. That was over 40 years ago.

Andrea,
I love homes like this one you have captured. It's so nice to know it's not abandoned and neglected but cared for and loved by the many stories that it's four walls have held.
Thanks so much for your friendship and love each day from you in visiting me.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat

Sending you blessings and love my friend. xoxo
I firmly believe my life has a purpose and it's been driven home to me over the past 3 years and gets clearer each day and stronger along with faith.
This is indeed a lovely home, with many stories to tell. It has withstood many storms and seen many victories no doubt.
Just like you and me.
I appreciated dropping by your place today and reading some of your posts!

I pass by this house so often and have always wondered about the people inside and what their story is. I have yet to photograph this house, but do know it is one of the most photographed homes in this area!
Blessings~
