Beach and Blog Radio

Greetings, hugs, love, and prayers from The Perdue Zoo. We are enjoying a week at God's beautiful Frisco Beach, Hatteras Island, North Carolina. The first 2 days have been unbelievably wonderful and we look forward to the beauty of each day through out the week.

Happy First Blogoversary Sitka

Yesterday, November 26th, 2009 was Sitka's first Blogoversary at All God's Creatures. Last year, GOD gave me a vision to allow each of you to follow Sitka's journey in the lives of others through Dog Therapy.

Please visit Sitka and join to follow as he loves and encourages humans who struggle in this world. Sitka visits hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as GOD leads and opens the doors for him. Sitka also takes Nanuq (Samoyed) and Trouble (Toy Poodle) on many of his adventures. Each of them are certified therapy dogs.

Miracles

Today, I would like to encourage you to visit my other blog. It is written in the voice of my beloved Alaskan Malamute, Sitka. He is my baby. Yes, I know babies do not normally weigh 125 pounds, but this one does.

Some of you know my husband and I have therapy dogs. We take them into hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities. We do a variety of things from encouraging a stroke patient to try and walk, encourage patients with terminal disease, and much, much more.

Last night we witnessed not one, but two miracles. Over the past year or so we have been visiting Central State Psychiatric Hospital, Petersburg, Virginia. We are the only "outside" therapy dogs ever to be allowed into their facility. Time and time again we have witnessed dramatic change in the patients, but last night was beyond what we could have asked or imagined.

Doug and I chose this ministry because there is such a tremendous need. Please jump over to Sitka's blog: All GODS CREATURES and read about our adventure. Several of you asked for a link to the therapy dog article that has been reprinted several times. I was asked to provide an article about Sitka. When I began to write the article I had a deep feeling it should be written in Sitka's voice. I battled over writing the article in this manner, but felt a clear direction from my Heavenly Father. It is a simple article, but most importantly it gives GOD the glory. Sitka states in the article, "I go wherever GOD leads and my Mom and Dad will take me."

1)Spent the morning outside with my Bible, journal, and the dogs.
2)Rest
3)Played with our precious grandbaby, Savannah Faith!
4)Spent the evening with the dogs while hubby took the kids out for dinner and fireworks.
5)Shared special time with a great friend.
6)Clipped Nanuq's (Samoyed) feet (hair) and nails.
7)LOTS of laundry!
8)Laughed with the family as they told stories of their evening out together.

8 things I wish I could do:

1)Dance beautifully and gracefully.
2)Play the guitar.
3)Take drawing classes.
4)Live on the water.
5)Visit or live in Alaska.
6)Visit or live in Ireland.
7)Get away to a quiet place for a vacation with my wonderful husband and our dogs.
8)Be ALL GOD created me to be (First and foremost)!
