Update: The Blue Box

Isolation as punishment in rural South Carolina school.

Behind "The Blue Box"

Late Friday, I posted a story about a friend's child being place in an isolated area called, "The Blue Box" as a form of punishment for hours at school.

Earlier today, the family met with a local attorney. He told them he no longer handles this type case. Why wasn't she told this on Friday when she made the appointment? It is critical for this family to get accurate advice and specialized representation. On Friday, there was mention of truancy. They clearly want them to back down and disappear.

Today, I come to you with a heavy heart for this family. They are discouraged! Please pray for guidance, direction, peace, comfort and love. Thank you for your continued prayers. GOD BLESS each of you.

Serving GOD together,

Andrea

Thanks for the update sis Andrea! Lord, we know You are our Advocate for everything. Please provide an honest lawyer who can truly represent them and who is knowledgeable in this case. Give this family the strength and the wisdom they need to understand which direction they need to take. Lord, thank You for being Who You are. We know that You are always in control no matter what. Please heal Colton and make him know that there is "hope" and that comes from You. Thank You Lord that we, blogging sisters can pray together no matter how far apart we are. Then, we know that You are in the midst of all of us. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

This could be an ACLU case. At the very least, the mother could force the issue by keeping the son out of school until the locality threatens legal action. That might necessitate a defense lawyer, which can be provided at state expense. Then evidence could be presented of the poor treatment.

I just agreed in prayer with Rosel and now I will be thanking Him every time I think of Colton because I believe prayer changes the dynamics of every situation. Your friends are not alone in this battle. May all of us see God's glory in the end.

Love you lots,
Mary

Andrea,

This is just another stale tactic of the enemy. He would just love it if the family gave up without a fight, much like he likes it when we give up instead of constantly seeking God. I honestly believe God will truimph in this matter, but His timing is everything. See the setbacks for what they are, and I will keep prayer for strength and encouragement for the family through this difficult time.

It's often through conflict that we will grow in God's grace!

My heart aches for this family. I will be in prayer. I'll also check with an NC contact I have to see if they know of a SC contact for the legal issues.

I will continue to pray for God's will to be done. No child deserves this... I bet there will be an awesome lesson learned after all is done..and we'll look back and say "That's what God wanted...." In good and bad.. God is glorified..

My prayers are being said fervently for this family. I, too, prayed along with Rosel and will continue to give Him thanks for all that He is doing in His Kingdom for Colton and his family. He hears all our prayers and He will guide, comfort, give them peace and so much more through all of this. Through Him, there is always HOPE.

Love you sister,
Alleluiabelle

I am continuing to pray. Thank you for standing STRONG! I disagree with the woman with the objection. Having been in the system here I NEVER saw this form of "discipline". It may be helpful to talk to someone in Chesterfield, County, or Henrico to get their feedback. Specifically, you could talk to someone who has integrated classes. I think that may shed further light and validate everyone's complaint. Again, my experience and my heart as a mother lead me to serious concern. Stand strong sister. I will continue praying!!!
