Waiting And Hoping

"Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the GOD who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you." Psalm 25:5

I continually put my hope in the Lord. As I pray, I hope for answers to life's difficulties, immediately. I do not like to wait. I like to get things done and move on.

As I meditate on this verse I am reminded to place my trust in the Lord "all day long." All day long indicates waiting. Sometimes our waits are more than a day.

GOD is continuing to teach me about HIS timing. He knows what is best. Any answer from our Heavenly Father is certainly worth the wait.

Waiting and hoping,

Andrea

I understand what you mean Andrea. I am in a similar season and am learning to keep trusting during the wait.

I will pray for you.

This is so true!
I just finished a Beth Moore biblestudy and she talked about this very thing but showed us how while we are waiting rest in knowing that God waits with us! What a peaceful thing to know and grasp a hold of :)

love to you Andrea! hope you have a very blessed joyfilled day!

He shows compassion to those who wait, gives strength, gives a new song, opens new doors of opportunity to the one willing to wait. Waiting purifies us...

I am praying for you, and for me, as we hold on to Him while waiting for Him to lead the way.

Andrea,

It is true that I am a lot like you. I have things to do and places to go. I can't move forward until things are off my To DO List!

I have found great peace in leaning on God through those times where I want things done and I want them now. God's timing in priceless and worth the wait.

Is everything ok, Andrea? Any way I can help? I understand about waiting--been doing only that these past two years.

Waiting on God's timing is a hard one. I am too and was in James 1:2-4. Just think, when that work He is doing is over, we'll be perfect and complete, lacking nothing!

You know, if I had a middle name, and I don't... it would be "Impatient". I'm not proud of that at all, it's just the truth. God has been working with me on this for years. I suppose I am in process and will be until Jesus returns o until I go to be with Him. I'm hoping that I just get it before either of those times comes to pass.

When I did my devotion this morning, the Lord led me to 2Peter 3:8,9. Most of the blogs I had read talked about patience, yours hoping while waiting...These are all great reminders for us to know that God's timetable is completely different than what we have. He is surely not slow to His promise. But you did an awesome thing- to remain trusting in Him. God bless sister. Love you in Christ.

Aw, how beautiful! I used a similar verse in my blog when I wrote about the blue jay, we must wait upon the Lord and trust in his Word <3

Psst, thank you for your sweet comment on facebook!

Happy is he whose hope is in the Lord!

I guess that means we can be happy while waiting huh?

Great post Andrea!

Ah, yes waiting. i just mentioned earthly waiting and how it gets on my nerves, in my post tonight.

Planning ahead is another thing I try to do, but I'm winging it with the job hunt cuz it's new territory for me. Learning so much.

I'm in that 'waiting' game as well, Andrea. It's not fun! I'm having to be patient, and yet I keep thinking, "God, I never ASKED for patience.... so why are you teaching it to me?"

=0)

{hugs}

Andrea: Great insights here.
Most of life is waiting, isn't it? If I can learn to wait gracefully, I'll be happy and peaceful.

I wonder if Jesus ever wants to hurry up His coming?

Well said dear sister.

Let us pray for each other to wait patiently and expectantly upon the LORD for His timing is always perfect just as His will is.

Love you much.

You know it's not easy to wait is it? But fortunately, we know that something good is coming. We aren't waiting it vain!

Trust is the lesson I am in the midst of once again ... for God's timing with my 95 year old mother. I cannot change a thing so trusting the LORD is what I want to do and am... today! : ) I will hold you in prayer, Andrea. ~ linda

Andrea,

What is it about that word wait and the process that makes us cringe? And what is it about coming out on the other side usually shining for Jesus as we have learned to trust deeper and deeper.

Pausing to pray for you! Blessings to you!

Tell me about waiting.

I have long believed that when the Bible says "They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength", it is the waiting that gives me strength...not actually the answer that comes!

Andrea: I had an interesting experience yesterday. Had an appointment with a gentleman for 2 p.m. He was one hour late! I hated to reschedule for another day, since I was already at his business and prepared to meet with him.

So... I read most of a Newsweek magazine, then looked out the window and let my mind wander onto trivia. Two things I have not done in far too long!

This little experience showed me that waiting can have some advantages. I hope that's true for you, and all of your readers.

Hugs,
Jen
