Allergic Reaction

Life is becoming more and more of an adventure. Most of you know we are planning our daughter's wedding. Last evening, we met with the wedding coordinator at the site where the Reception will be held. It is a rustic facility on two lakes. My husband is one of the owners and we visit there from time to time. It holds a special place in each of our hearts.

Here is my problem: The last two visits I have made to this facility I have become ill. I am apparently VERY allergic to something that grows around the lakes or possibly something in the building. I need prayers for healing and protection during this time. I must continue to prepare for the reception at this facility and I also have to make it through the reception.

It may sound crazy, but I laid in the bed this morning and laughed. At every turn things have not gone quite as planned and somehow it seemed humorous that I am allergic to the event area for the reception.

"the joy of the Lord is my strength." Nehemiah 8:10

I am determined not to allow satan to steal my joy. I must admit I have been a bit cranky. Not breathing well does that to me. I am taking allergy medicine and holistic treatments.

I am amazed at the number of you who have chosen to call me friend. I thank you for your support, love, and prayers.

Amazed by His grace,

Andrea

Oh dear Andrea! I understand your concern! Not being able to breathe is NOT fun at all.

I'm allergic to dust, most trees, mold and pollen and we've chosen to live in a forest! Okay, so we moved here and then I got allergy tested.

Anyway, do you take any allergy meds? Zyrtec is over the counter now and works well.

Praying for you.

Try not to touch anything while you are there and Zyrtec and maybe nose strays several days before the event. Good luck!

I believe the laughing will get the allergens out of your system. Yes, the joy of the Lord is your strength!

I know there must be some organic remedy for allergic reactions.

Praying for you

Will keep you in prayers and the whole event, for it to go smoothly. Not fun when we can't breathe.

That sounds like a nice place to have the reception.

I like the verse that you shared. God bless. Love to you.

God does have a sense of humor. After leaving my daughters dorm yesterday I started getting a headache. By the time I got home I had to take a couple of Tylenol and lay down. Talking to my husband about it later we come to the conclusion it must have been the perfume she sprayed right before I left. Now that's never bothered me before.

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for visiting my blog. My daughter just suffered a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics and was hospitalized, so I can truly empathize with your allergic situation. Praying that God grants you great grace, healing and joy in the midst of it all.

Oh Andrea, I don't know you....this is my first visit to your blog...but I am praying for you...had an allergic reaction that went terribly crazy wrong early in the summer...I'm still recovering... and praying that you will overcome whatever it is, or whatever it is will be out of season by your next visit.

Good for you Andrea! When you laughed, the devil cringed.
He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world.
Praying that you will not suffer for this special occassion.

Oh my heavens! You've got to be kidding?! I know you're not though. Not to be mean, but I'm kind of giggling with you! Is the allergy medicine you're taking a prescription? If not, I wonder if there is something a doctor can do for you? Perhaps whatever it is will be out of bloom in another month! Praying for you dear!

Oh my gosh...I just read this and am amazed how the Lord led me to pray for you for the last few days putting your allergies on my heart. I wondered if it still was an issue or if I heard Him wrong!

I'm allergic to mold and pollen and have been going to a retreat center for years and getting sick every time! But like you, I refuse to let it steal my joy and spiritual teachings!!!!

You are a special friend!
