Storming The Heavens

Today, I look to the heavens in search of answers. As the South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Clemson Tigers my joy is tempered by the knowledge of family members who take this game so seriously they use it as an excuse not to speak. You notice I say, excuse! Obviously, there is a deeper and greater problem than a rival ball game.

Through the years our family has used excuses to cover a multitude of problems. Sadly, "The Bowling Family" is broken and only GOD can fix it. Today, I ask you to join me in prayer on behalf of my family.

One day, I would love to see each family member together, agreeing to leave their disagreements at the door and simply love one another! It is a big prayer request, but I know GOD is greater than the sin of dysfunction in our family.

Storming the heavens,

Andrea

Oh Andrea -- how heartbreaking. I'm so sorry you face this struggle. Family conflict is so hard. But you've got your eyes on the right place. I pray now that you can continue to fix your eyes on Jesus through this struggle.

Praying with you sister...Just visiting real quick before I take some rest and working again tonight. That is difficult but like what you said, there is nothing that the Lord can't fix...Praying for His love to cover you and your family. God bless.

Andrea, one thing we learned through our daughter's death is that life is short...and the unthinkable DOES happen. And when it does, these petty differences come back and bite you in the behind. We learned it is critical for your own sanity, as well as for so many other reasons, to keep at peace with those we love. I pray that the family members will realize the shortness of time and that in the end, all that really matters is that they're there! Everything else is so small compared to spending a life without one another.

Right now I come before you heavenly Father and thank You for Andrea. Thank You for her love for You and her trust in You. I ask that You'd work in Her family; that You'd do a miracle and break down the walls between them. I ask that You'd help them become more conscious of the love they already have for one another; and that You would bless them with overflowing love for One another. Thank You Father that You want love to prevail in this family way more than even Andrea does. Thank You that You are a great and mighty God.

Will most certainly pray for your family...it hurts so much when family members can't get along...the old saying is true about the ones you love the most can hurt you the most...but our God can heal those hurts and mend broken hearts....

I should clarify the problems within my family are in the extended family. My sister and I have an awesome relationship. We lost our younger sister 20 years ago and indeed realize the importance of love and family. It is our uncles/aunts/and cousins who do not value the family. THANK YOU, everyone! Prayer is the only answer. I know I can not change anyone, but GOD can or if I need changing, HE will change me.

Will pray for your family. It's easy to loose sight of what's important when everyone is just caught up in the heat of the moment. Perhaps by example we can learn to look beyond ourselves.God Bless you Andrea

LORD, you know each member of this family and what is going on in their heart and mind. I ask You to heal them individually so that as they realize their own fears, anger, struggles, that the healing process would be complete in each one. Then, LORD, I ask you to bring them together as a family with Your love reigning in their hearts, and raining down upon them to rebuild these relationships. I ask these in Your Son's Holy Name, Amen.

Andrea,
I think most of us can relate to certain areas in our family that are disfunctional. I know how heartbreaking it can be and yes.... I will pray along side of you for a "holy spirit" love to begin to flow amoung each family member and to set aside the cares of this crazy world that seem to get up off track and concerned only with our own wants.... I think that is the biggest issue in most of our families. Just like in the book of James - most often our quarrels are because we are craving something and not getting what we desire.... God Bless and I enjoy your posts...

Isn't it sad when families hold grudges and forget how much they love and need each other?!

We have ONE uncle who just can't seem to remember how much his family is worth. He won't be coming to our Christmas party next week... because he refuses to let things go. Very, very sad.

I hear you on that one. Our family was divided for a while. Only God could fix it and he did. THere is still a little tension, but at least they are now speaking & able to be together. Saying a prayer for your family. It is so hard.

Amen. God is bigger and you know what Andrea, he delights in HUGE prayer request. It shows you trust him to take care of it. Here is my prayer for you and your family.

Lord God, we break the spirit of strife from Andrea's family and remove it for all time. We thank you Lord that your grace and healing will begin as a flame of fire and distroy all works of strife. We thank you for bringing unity where disharmony once was. First Lord by drawing every family member to you, to live with Jesus as Lord over their lives. Let a heart of compassion surround Andrea's family.

In your name we ask these things.
Amen!!!!

I am so sorry! There is no greater hurt than that of a family that is struggling! I am praying that resolution happens soon - life is so short and family too dear to let past hurts fester. Such a waste of precious time! I hope and pray my friend that YOU can be the catalyst of peace and change within your beloved family. Perhaps with your love and example, others will follow your lead.
Blessings to you,
Kymber
