Memorial Day

Today, we remember all those who have served our country and thank those who continue to serve. Whether you agree with war or you are opposed, we are given the privilege of freedom because each of these individuals made/make a huge sacrifice.

As we reflect and pray for the families affected, I will honor my husband's father, James Bolling Perdue, who died November 11, 1944 in Germany (The Battle of the Bulge). My husband was a baby and only has pictures of he and his Dad. He does not remember him. Through the years, He has depended on others for stories about his father's personality and other traits. He clings and treasures each morsel.

My husband is now 66 years old. He has a tender heart for all the children left behind. He understands their feelings and prays for them daily.

Remembering,

Andrea

Please tell your husband I truly honor, appreciate and respect the sacrifice his Father made on behalf of my freedom.
I admire the courageous struggle and strength of his Mother. To raise up her son without his Father and building in a heart of faith and compassion all the while.
Thank you!

That's a nice pic sis Andrea. Yes, so many had given their lives and even up to now, many are risking their own because of the freedom that we enjoy. May God continue to protect them who are out there in those battle fields.
May God comfort the families left behind too. I'm glad you're feeling better. Have a blessed week.

What a great reminder for all of us who continue to benefit from the sacrifices not only of those who serve but of those who love them as well.

Blessings,
Mary

I think so many Americans take for granted the freedoms we have. I know I used to. 9/11 changed that for me. My kids (especially my younger son) love anything to do with World War II (and the Civil & Revolutionary Wars). I let them read and watch documentaries about these wars so that they have a better understanding of why they have freedom. We went to Gettysburg two years ago and are planning to go back this summer.

I'm sorry that your husband had to grow up without his dad so that the rest of us could have freedom. I'm very grateful to his family.

Blessings to you both!

Hi Andrea,
We don't celebrate Memorial Day here in Canada but we do remember those who fight and have fought to keep our countries free. They have all made great sacrifices for us so we can enjoy the life we have. Thank you for sharing and the Lord bless your husband for the sacrifice his father made!

Blessings,
Sandi

Andrea,

Pass along much thanks to your hubby for the sacrifices his father made, and for the sacrifice he has had to make because of the lose of his father. War is tough and impacts everyone it touches.
