Tilled and Watered

"For ground that drinks the rain which often falls upon it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God." Hebrews 6:7

Last Thursday, I was in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The rain was a steady, soaking rain. As I sat watching the drops pelt the ground I began to think about the above passage.

God waters us like the "tilled soil." When we prepare our hearts....as they are tilled; God sends the rain to bless and grow us into the people HE created us to be.

Tilled: the soil (our heart) is prepared to receive the rain

Brings Forth Vegetation: spiritual growth

Those who are prepared for GOD to "rain" on them will grow spiritually. The rain of heaven pours forth on those hearts waiting to receive.

"Receive me" beckons our Heavenly Father...."allow me to water your tilled heart."

Growing in grace,

Andrea

*I did not take any pictures while I was away. I had my camera prepared, but was not able to stop and get the pictures. We traveled with another couple and I did NOT feel comfortable asking them to pull off the side of the road when I longed to take a picture. I am sorry.

Awesome spiritual learning from that. May my heart be like that, always tilled, thirsty for the Rain. Right now, we have a June gloom so it looks like it might rain anytime. This weather will remind me of the knowledge you just imparted.

We can see the pictures through your words :)

Have a blessed day sister and know I'm praying for you always. Love you in Christ.

Andrea,

I love the rain and always have. My mom thinks I am wierd because I love it when it does. I love being out in it, sitting in it and she knows when it comes I will be in it somewhere. I think of it as God's shower to the Earth, washing it clean and making it all beautiful once again.

It doesn't rain here as often as it has in the past, but I still will be out in it, whenever it comes.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

I'll bet you saw some gorgeous scenery. Yup, we need both the sun and the rain to grow. Smooth times and difficult times!

Great minds think alike! I was going to post something similar to this. The title came to me as I was going to bed the other night..."Till My Soil (Soul) Oh Lord". I just never got around to writing it this week!

I'm sorry you had to be up here for all the rain! It was hard keeping our camera dry as we took pictures at the WWII Weekend.

Have a terrific week!

Thanks for stopping by and for praying for Romeo! I think it's great that you were thinking of the other people you were with and did not want to hold them up...we should put others first....what if all people thought as you do? Wonderful!

Happy Birthday Andrea! Thanks for visiting my humble blog today! I had a chuckle about your comment about feeling uncomfortable asking your travel companions to pull over. Chuckled because my travel buddies would ask me if we needed to stop, point and shoot! :D Have a lovely birthday!! Joan and I will toast to you today.

Yes, it's hard but we want to remember that, when we're going thru hard times. I wrote that to remind me, as often I try to get to involved and analyze and think to much. I just need to rest in Him and let Him control things!

I loved this post, Andrea! How it speaks so deeply to my heart, of things that my own heart longs for. I have always loved rain, and the way it seeps through the earth, causing vegetation to be brought forth. Life giving, nourishing, re-creating...this is what rain means to me.

Thank you for this post!

Ahh, I know the area very well! I just passed through there myself going and coming back from my Mothers. That's where I catch the turnpike and head over to the Lebanon/Hershey exit.

You are a gifted writer. I truly enjoy resting here.
