Survival

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you. For I am the Lord Your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."
Isaiah 43:1b-3a

Today, I share one of the most important verses GOD has used in my life. Simply, GOD promises me "survival." No matter how bad it gets, HE will see me through to the other side. I am HIS and HE will never abandon me.

If you are struggling today, I pray you will find comfort in these verses. There was a season in my life when I slept with GOD's word. Yes, I held my big study Bible in my arms at night. My pain during that time was deep and yet, I survived. I am here today as a witness of GOD's love and protection.

By HIS mercy and in the grip of HIS grace,

Andrea

Great verse.

I'm thankful for a God who doesn't just love us during the good times, but walks with us (or carries us) during the hard ones too.

Thank you. It's hard when things go on for so long and you think God must have forgotten about you or some ridiculous thought like that. Good reminder! :O)

When things are really awful, I think about Christian women who survived the Holocaust and Christian women who were slaves and I know that if God could hold them through it all and if they could love and praise Jesus through their trials, I can hold on and praise Him through mine.

Andrea,

This is the verse that got me through one of the toughest challenges life handed me. I just need to keep my eyes on Him and not on problems. He will carry us through to the very end.

Really enjoyed looking around at your page for the first time. As my ministry is growing, I love looking at others that are encouraging people just as I am trying to do. I love almost everything on the right column of your page too. It's so well done.

Sitka: I am positive you are much better behaved than some people's children! The neighbors actually wouldn'ta minded me comin' to their pig roast but Mom and Dad know I would help myself to all the human foods and be a nuisance to everybody. Thanks for stoppin' by my blog!

"I have called you by name; you are mine." This is my favorite part, we are His! His to care for, His to tend to, His to watch over, His to protect, His to provide for, His to teach, His to love...AHHH

As I write this comment I am listening to your song on here...tears are welling in my eyes as I think of my grandma...flying to heaven on the wings of angels, walking with Jesus, smiling and saying...Daveda, don't worry about me :)

Thanks, we can never get enough of this kind of encouragement. With the economic situation and international war, we need to remember that God is bigger than all of these things! We are in his protective care, no matter what. Good post.

I love the verse, too Andrea:) I often clinged to it when pregnant and with my babies!!! I looked at (and followed) the blogs you mentioned via email. I am amazed at your ministry here on your blogs sister. I wanted to get the award you mentioned on your blog, but my computer is taking like FOREVER to do anything on it right now, so I am going to retire for the evening. (Sorry it took me so long to look for the award.) Love you much, Laurie

Hi Andrea, gee thanks for following my blog too.
This particular post struck a chord.God had redeemed me time and time again. He has always been with me, I know it. But I can be such a stubborn disciple, and I know at times I do disappoint him. But I do hope he will forgive me and just continue to give me the strength and heart to perservere.

God Bless you and your family.

Andrea: I'm glad shared about sleeping with your Bible; I've thought of doing that! I have hugged and kissed God's word as I thanked Him for it's life and light.
Many blessings on you as you follow after Him and not just survive but come through the valley to eventually thrive.

I love those verses. I like to personalize them a bit, like "when you pass through the waters of _____" and I put in whatever personal difficulty I'm praying about in the blank. Then I pray them back to the Lord, thanking Him for His promises!

I hope you are feeling better soon, my friend.

Beautiful scripture, beautiful commentary. Thank you so much for sharing and for your kind comments on my last post. It is so encouraging to know that there are readers who enjoy my work. It is a motivation that keeps me writing. If it weren't for my faith that God will get us through anything, I would not make it from day to day.

Thank you again and God Bless,
Mimmy
