Is often needed for love
For courage to love
For courage to speak up when you love!
The above poem was written in the heart of a young, thirteen year old girl known to most as Andee. She found herself growing up in a world without the security she once knew. Her grandmother, Marie Coates died September 27, 1979 after an extremely painful journey with Cancer.
God is faithful to heal and restore the hearts of all who are willing. The little girl known as Andee is now grown and sharing a special relationship with her own granddaughter. I am that little girl!!
As I gaze into the eyes of my precious granddaughter, Savannah I think of my Nana and realize the gift God has given me. My Nana taught me how to be a Nana, giving me courage to love and speak up when I love.
In the grip of HIS grace,
Andrea

What a unique position & privilege we grandmothers have. I didn't know either of mine since my parent's had me late in their lives, and their parents died before I was old enough to remember them.
That said, I have treasured my times with my grandchildren. I like to think they're more secure because someone thinks they are perfect, just as they are.
Blessings,
Kathleen
Thank you for a beautiful and heart-felt post.
Blessings,

What a lovely post Andrea!! I will be praying for you as you minister to the family that just lost a loved one.
This is one of your most beautiful posts yet. You got me. I didn't know it was you until you told me. What a lovely poem. Your thoughts are so helpful. I know they minister to many. I had a wonderful grandma, too. So now I hope to be like her to "my boy."
Beautiful sharing. I can relate on several levels.
There is such JOY in being a Grandma. I have two little Grand girls and I adore them and if not for my Grandma who is with the Lord since 1990; I would not have known how to love my kids or grand kids if not for my Grandma and Grandpa's SAFE love.
praying with and for you and for your friend who lost her husband.

Anrea,
Thanks for the comment on my Blog.
I just invested in many seeds and tomato plants, and now it's time to plant-- tomorrow.
I was in Virginia Beach about 8 years ago, and it was very nice-- but I heard it gets really hot there too.
I love Wisconsin, where we are taxed to death... LOL.
